July is a busy month for the residents:
July 3 - The Villages will be celebrating July 4 with a parade including the marching band from Del Mar High School, a Marine unit and a guest soldier on leave from Iraq, vintage cars, and many floats (decorated golf cars). Come out and celebrate with games, food, music, and visiting with your Village neighbors and friends.
July 7 - Outing to the de Young museum to see the "Birth of Impressionism". The de Young is proud to be the only museum in the world to present two consecutive special exhibitions from the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. The "Post Impressionist Masterpieces will be toured in the Fall.
This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to experience these masters in our backyard!
July 18 - NY Mets come to San Francisco and Villagers will be off to the ol' ballpark in an air-conditioned coach. All seating will be in the shade so perfect time to take in a ball game at AT&T Park.
July 31 - Rival LA Dodgers come to San Francisco. The bus leaves the community at 10:30am.
In the community the pools and fitness are back in full operation:

September Community Events
Join in the fun this month with numerous events:
September 12 - Wine Tasting and tour at Chateau Julien in Carmel. Enjoy lunch in the beautiful courtyard and owner, Patty Brower, will be serving her favorite glass of wine to go with lunch. $44/person includes the Transportation forthis exciting outing!
September 19 - South Pacific. We now have two buses traveling to San Francisco to enjoy this 1949 musical by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. Following the musical, dinner will be served at the Franciscan Crab Restaurant on Pier 43 1/2. $120/person includes musical, dinner, transportation and a "feel good day" with your neighbors in The Villages.
September 25 - California Academy of Sciences. This fabulous all-day outing includes transportation, admission to Museum and two headset tours all for $53/person.
September 27 - SF Giants host the Chicago Cubs. Tickets are in the lower box 103 seats on the right field. Transportation and box seats are included in this $65/person outing!
October 1 - SF Giants host Arizona for the LAST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON. Transportation and lower box 103 seats all for $57/person. All sports fans are encouraged to bring their own lunch and soft drinks.

August 2 - The very popular Country Western Dance with the Patty Kistner Band,
$6/person to dance and listen to music from 3-6pm.
August 12 - The rivalry game! - SF Giants host the LA Dodgers
Transportation and box seats are included in this $69/person outing!
August 29 - Do you remember the Beach Boys? Come on down to the driving range for a concert by the California Beach Boys (a Beach Boys Tribute Band) from 6-9pm. Hotdogs, ice cream and fabulous dance music all for $10/person

San Jose Giants Coummunity Fund Golf Tournament
The Inaugural San Jose Giants Community Fund Golf Tournament held at The Villages Golf & Country Club on July 14 was a HUGH SUCCESS!
The Village resident's not only volunteered to help make this a wonderful event, many played with the great Hall of Fame players like Rich Murray and Vida Blue, 1989 MVP Kevin Mitchell and current San Jose Giants team members with manager, Andy Skeets and CEO, Jim Weyerman. Wow, what a great day and $10,953 was added to the San Jose Giants Community Fund.
Watch for the 2010 tournament to be even bigger and better!

Ever wanted to play golf with a Baseball Pro?
The Giants organization is bringing some players, coaches, and owners of the San Jose Giants, San Francisco Giants, and Hall of Fame players to play in the Inaugural San Jose Giants Community Fund Golf Tournament at the Villages Golf and Country Club on Tuesday, July 14.
All golfers are invited to play in this tournament and play in a foursome with a baseball pro. The tournament benefits the youth in our community through the development of healthy lifestyles in children and teens through physical activity and eduction.
The registration fee includes golf, lunch, dinner, prizes and the ALL-STAR game which will be shown on a big screen during dinner. For further information and to register for the tournament, please contact Tournament Coordinator, Ruth DePonzi, (408) 297-1435
Interested in sponsorship opportunities? There are many opportunities from Tee Sponsor to Dinner Sponsor packages.
